19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This represents his maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better service.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
He saved 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
