I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
